What is SIP Socket?

The SIP Socket is a single-row pin electronic connector used for mounting Single In-line Package (SIP) components. Its function is similar to a DIP IC socket but features a single row of pins, allowing components to be easily inserted and removed without soldering directly onto the PCB.

Features and Applications of SIP Socket
  • Single-Row Pin Configuration

Pins are arranged in a straight line. Common pitch sizes include 2.54mm (0.1”), 2.00mm, and 1.27mm.

  • Convenient Component Insertion

Prevents components from being permanently soldered to the PCB, making maintenance, replacement, and upgrades easier.

  • Flexible Design

Pin count can be customized from 2 pins to over 40 pins. Supports both through-hole and SMT mounting.

  • Reliable Materials

Terminals: Beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, or brass with tin, nickel, or gold plating for conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Housing: Engineering plastics such as PBT, LCP, or NY9T, offering high-temperature resistance and reflow soldering capability.

  • High Durability

Spring-type terminal design supports repeated insertions, ideal for testing and development environments.

  • Space-Saving

Single-row layout saves PCB space compared to traditional IC sockets, suitable for compact devices.

    Application Fields

    Electronic Component Mounting:
→Resistor networks, SIP ICs, filters, modules, small power components
    Product Design & Maintenance:
    →Reduces heat damage from soldering
    →supports modular upgrades
    Testing & Development:
Lab or R&D boards-Facilitates quick component replacement
production test tool-Repeatable plugging and unplugging without damaging components
    Industrial & Consumer Electronics:
→Control boards, communication equipment, peripherals, audio systems, TVs, home appliance control modules

Where to Buy SIP Socket

SIP Socket is a well-established product. Taiwanese manufacturers such as Chun Chi Industrial Co., Ltd. and Anytronic Corporation Limited have been producing SIP Sockets since 1988. Their products—made from LCP and PBT materials—are available in a wide range of specifications and are widely used in microwave ovens, POS machines, printers, audio systems, TVs, and home appliance control modules.
